By Air

Oxford is reachable by bus from all four major London airports — the table below shows typical traveling times. Please note that the frequency of buses varies during the day. Refer to the companys' Web sites for more information.

Oxford can be reached in about 1 hour on the CrossCourty Trains services from the Birmingham International airport.

By Train

Oxford can be reached from London Paddington on the First Great Western services. Journey times vary: fast trains take about 1 hour, while regular trains take about 1 hour 50 minutes.Travel by train from the continent is possible by Eurostar. Trains arrive at St Pancras International, so you will need to change to London Paddington via Tube. For general train time-tables in the UK, please refer to the National Rail Enquiries Web site.

By Bus

Oxford is also reachable by bus. Oxford Tube provides excellent bus services from London. For other services, please refer to National Express and Sategecoach.

Accommodation

Please consider booking one of the rooms we reserved at St. Anne's College. Prices are very reasonable: £39 for rooms with a shared bathroom and £XX (price coming shortly) for en-suite rooms. Information on how to book these rooms will be available in due course.

Alternatively, you can book a room in a Bed & Breakfast or an Oxford hotels; you might consider using the Hotel Reservation Service. Any of the centrally located hotels will provide good access to the workshop venue. Oxford is very busy in summer, so consider booking your accomodation early.

Getting around Oxford

Oxford is well connected by buses. There are two main companies: the Oxford Bus Company and Stagecoach. More information about public transport in Oxford is available here.
