EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) Secondments: call for proposals
As part of Oxford’s £3.6m IAA, applications are invited for secondment grants which aim to speed up or enhance the non-academic impact of Oxford’s EPSRC-funded research. Applications are welcomed from all academic career stages, including DPhil students and Post Docs. These secondments are offered to either work with end-users to exploit existing EPSRC-funded research outcomes, or to inform future EPSRC grant proposals that address end-user problems.
Funds can be requested for:
— Knowledge Transfer secondments: outward secondment of a PDRA / PhD student previously funded by EPSRC.
— Pre-application secondments: Enables PIs to work with users to inform the design of an EPSRC research grant proposal – ensuring research questions and/or the format of research outputs are more relevant to users.
— Pre-proof of concept secondments: Enables researchers to work with users to identify key challenges that need to be addressed to further exploit EPSRC funded outputs and draw up a plan to tackle them.
— Senior visiting fellowships: Inward secondment (up to 12 months) of senior industry / user scientists.
— Sabbatical impact enhancement grants: Enables academics to engage with research users during sabbatical leave.
— ‘Firewall’ secondments: Pilot mechanisms to deliver impact across security curtains.
