Senior Researcher

Biography

Dr. Jiaoyan Chen is a Senior Researcher at Department of Computer Science, University of Oxford and a member of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Group. He was previously a PostDoctoral Researcher in GIScience Research Group in Heidelberg University. Jiaoyan did his Ph.D in Computer Science and Technology in Zhejiang University, under the supervision of Prof. Zhaohui Wu and Prof. Huajun Chen. During his Ph.D career, he visited Informatics Department of Zurich University as an exchange student, and had the internship in Alibaba (knowledge graph) and Baidu (machine learning). Jiaoyan got his Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Technology in Zhejiang University.

Research Interest

Knowledge Base, Ontology for Machine Learning

Ongoing

I'm now working on (1) understanding noisy tabular data with knowledge base and deep learning, and (2) augmenting and explaining transfer learning with ontologies.
