Grade 6: £28,660 – £34,189 p.a. (pro rata)

Part Time (0.6 FTE / 22.5 hours per week)

Fixed term until 31 March 2020

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the department as a Project Officer (part-time) at the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre, a dynamic centre of interdisciplinary research on efficient and effective cybersecurity capacity-building. This is a key support role for the Centre and the successful applicant will be supporting the Centre Director and the team in delivering the day to day activities which fall into two broad categories: project administration and project communication. You will organise external and internal meetings, provide regular communication with key associates, book travel and accommodation for team members and associates and monitor for high-priority correspondence from research sponsor.  The Project and Communications Officer role will also be key in supporting the Lead International Operations in maintaining a consistent look and ‘brand’ for the Centre in all communications and creating and implementing communications and stakeholder plans and effectively communicate the Centre’s work and aims, and to foster key regional and international partnerships.

You will need to work flexibly with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and successfully prioritise and manage a varied and changeable workload.

You will possess excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a complex and changing environment.

Additionally, you will have excellent writing skills and attention to detail – with proven ability to write accurately in diverse styles and communicate complex scientific and technical ideas to a non-specialist audience.

In addition to the above, you will possess excellent organisational skills as you will need to manage a diverse range of activities and tasks in support of the Centre’s overall aims and strategy with good general IT skills, including knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and other business packages.

The successful candidate will process a University degree, preferably in a science or social science subject (or equivalent).
