Peter Fulla has been announced as the Honourable Mention in the ACP Doctoral Research Award for his DPhil thesis 'On the Valued Constraint Satisfaction Problem’, supervised by Prof. Standa Zivny.

The ACP Doctoral Research Award is given every year by the Association for Constraint Programming, to a promising young researcher working in the area of constraint programming and who defended his/her thesis between January and December of the previous two years. The panel chair said:

The panel decided that Peter's excellent thesis deserved the runners-up award.  It was a very close call between him and the winner. We were deeply impressed not only by the theoretical depth of Peter's work but also by achieving a number of different results.

Peter is now working at NII, Japan with Prof. Ken-ichi Kawarabayashi funded by a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship.
