The Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford has an opening for a Research Assistant at the postdoctoral level, for a fixed period of up to 12 months, starting in early 2015.

 

You would be performing research independently and in collaboration with researchers on the the ‘Modelling and controlling cascading events in dynamical networks’ project, which aims to be applied and tailored around models of inter-banking systems, and possibly power networks.  More information on the project goals is available from aabate@cs.ox.ac.uk

 

Candidates should have, or shortly be expecting to obtain, a PhD in a relevant area of science, and must also have a solid inter-disciplinary research record, particularly on foundational work, in one or more of the following areas: formal verification, systems and control theory, and stochastic models.

 

The post is available for up to 12 months, has a salary on the University grade 07S scale (currently £30,434 – £37,394 p.a.), includes membership of the University pension scheme and has an annual leave entitlement of 38 days per year (inclusive of all public holidays and university closed periods).
