The Sensor Networks Group, co-directed by Dr. Andrew Markham, has an opportunity for a postdoctoral Research Assistant to work in the area of sensor systems, localization, and information processing.  You would be working on the Magneto-Inductive Six Degree of Freedom Smart Sensors for Structural and Ground Health Monitoring (MiSixthSense) project.

The successful candidate will be contributing to the research project plan as well as collaborating with other staff associated with the project.  Applicants must have a PhD, or be close to completing one, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

The primary selection criteria are strong programming and design skills for embedded sensor systems, and a proven track record of relevant publications. Experience in digital signal processing and communication, or knowledge of sensor network approaches and algorithms are desirable.

The post, which is a full time appointment, is funded by EPSRC and is available for up to 2 years with the possibility of extension. The post has a salary on the University grade 07S scale (currently £30,434 to £37,394). This includes membership of the University Superannuation Scheme (USS) and has an annual leave entitlement of 38 days per year (inclusive of all public holidays and university closed periods).
