A full-time opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join the Department of Computer Science, working closely with the Finance Team Leader. The purpose of this role is to ensure that financial transactions are recorded and processed in accordance with University financial controls. 

You would be responsible for raising purchase orders for the department in Oracle financials, checking and coding of travel reimbursement claims, processing departmental credit card transactions. You will be the first point of contact for straightforward finance queries, and for suppliers regarding purchase orders and deal with discrepancies, when required.  When necessary, you would also be responsible for payment of invoices and for processing Software Engineering part time course student invoices.

The ideal candidate will have good communications skills, be accustomed to working as part of a team or on their own initiative, be numerate, have experience of working in finance, and be a competent user of Microsoft Office applications.  Experience with Oracle financials is highly desirable.

The post, which is a full time appointment, is funded by department, is available on a permanent basis, and has a salary on the University grade 04S scale (currently £20,781 - £24,057 p.a.).  This includes membership of the Oxford Staff Pension Scheme (OSPS) and has an annual leave entitlement of 38 days per year (inclusive of all public holidays and university closed periods)
