NOTE: This is my old homepage and from July 1, 2011 will no longer be updated.  My new page is located here. http://www.qubit.org/jacob-biamonte. Please update your book marks.

I'm a Theoretical Physicist who works on all sorts of deeply bewildering topics.  I'm always keen to discuss stuff, but those who come and visit for a chat will leave looking at a marker board filled with equations - you'll get tea too and won't have to grab the pen before round two.  This is the way I do things in this ancient village.

Sometimes people ask for a quick introduction to get an idea about the sorts of things I work on.  Some of this stuff has received a reasonable amount of media coverage (e.g.  Wired, MSNBC etc.), so you might check out my interview (Quantum simulators & super civilisations) about joint work on using quantum computing algorithms to simulate quantum chemistry or look out for my new framework and theory for tensor network states: outlined on the popular mathematics and physics blog, the n-Category Café (Tensor Networks).   I even went as far as writing a short piece for the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) which outlines how this came to be.

Before you go, I should mention my course which is rather unique in its approach and tackles a range of advanced topics in quantum information science (with a mathematical flavour).  This year we're giving a condensed version at IQC Canada, CQT Singapore and will do the full course again this spring in Oxford.  See my new homepage (Jacob Biamonte) for current details, and even the youtube lecture videos.  Maybe see you there.
