Pix from 1st Americas School on Agents (Los Angeles, January 2002)

Here are some pictures from the first America's summer school on Agents, organised by Milind Tambe and held in Marina del Rey, Los Angeles, in January 2002. The location was the University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institute (ISI). And this is the view from the top floor of the ISI tower on Admiralty drive:

Hard to understand why I agreed to go, isn't it?! Towards the top right of the picture are the Santa Monica hills; beneath them is Venice beach and the Pacific Ocean.

With Milind Tambe, the main organiser of the event.

And this is me at work.

Answering (or at least, trying to answer) some questions from delegates. The chap on the right looks a bit sceptical.

Phil Cohen teaching possible worlds.

Chatting to Phil Cohen during the coffee break.

Michael Littman, giving a truly superb talk about agents/decision theory/MDPs. He is here explaining his new game "Coinopoloy" (patent definitely not pending...).

Ed Durfee at work.

And finally, sunset over the Marina. Wow!
