Awards
Postgraduate qualifications
There are seven taught postgraduate qualifications offered by the Programme:
- Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Software Engineering
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Software Engineering
- Master of Science (MSc) in Software Engineering
- Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Object Technology
- Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Software and Systems Security
- Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Software and Systems Security
- Master of Science (MSc) in Software and Systems Security
Any of these can be gained through attendance on a number of modules in different subjects, and successful completion of the corresponding assignments. The MSc awards require that this selection includes the project and dissertation modules. The awards in Object Technology and Software and Systems Security require that a majority of the modules and assignments considered by the examiners should be drawn from appropriate parts of the curriculum.
A precise specification of the requirements for each qualification is provided in the award regulations:
A clear description of the extent of achievement—in terms of marks awarded on each assignment—needed to satisfy the examiners is given in the examination conventions:
