Abstract

The increasing amount of experimental data for key macromolecules provides broad opportunities for the computational modelling and functional interpretation of their structures. Several projects are available in developing algorithms to increase the resolution and modelling to aid the functional interpretation of experimental structures. In recent years we already developed several key algorithms in this area (pubs. 17 - 19: http://www.cs.ox.ac.uk/mosaics/publications/).

We need further developments to extend the application domain of these algorithms to more experimental data types and larger and more challenging molecular complexes. A project may include developing basic algorithmic theory, software implementation or applications in collaboration with experimentalists.

Prerequisites: excellent programming and statistical skills are desirable but the project can be tailored to suit those from a variety of backgrounds.
