Information Event on Horizon 2020 ICT Calls

It’s short notice (this only came through to me on Friday evening) however some of you may be interested in an event taking place in London on Wednesday, which will be providing information on the ICT Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies topics. Of particular interest to us in Computer Science would be the ICT 28 topic of Cross-cutting ICT KETs.

UK is 2nd on the Global Innovation Index 2014

The World Intellectual Property Organization, in collaboration with Cornell University and the Business School INSEAD, has published the seventh edition of the Global Innovation Index 2014.

The seventh edition looks at the human factors associated with innovation, including: the individuals and teams behind the innovation process; different aspects of human capital required to achieve innovation, including skilled labour; the intersection of human, financial and technological capital; talent retention; and the mobilization of highly educated people.

With analysis based on a total of 81 indicators, the UK came 2nd out of 142 countries.
