Industrial CASE PhD Studentships – Call

Smith Inst

The Smith Institute for Industrial Mathematics and System Engineering has been allocated 4 Studentships from EPSRC Industrial CASE Studentships to support postgraduate researchers working on new industrial-academic collaborations in mathematics. In general, they are looking for projects that combine a significant mathematical research challenge with the prospect of commercial impact.

To be eligible as a CASE partner, companies must have an established UK-based research and/or commercial production capability. These studentships must be placed with a Research Organisation that receives Doctoral Training Grant funding from EPSRC.

Companies and University departments wishing to propose a CASE project through the Smith Institute prepare, using the form designed for the purpose, a proposal containing a brief outline of the project and a description of the associated industrial outcomes, which is returned electronically to Melvin Brown by the submission deadline.

Deadline for applications – 27th February 2015, please contact your Research Facilitation Team if you intend to apply.
For the application form – Email Melvin Brown (melvin.brown@smithinst.co.uk).
