The National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement & Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs) has awarded the initiative "In Silico human-based methodologies for evaluation of drug safety and efficacy". The award is focused on the research into cardiotoxicity – a major cause of drug attrition in pharmaceutical development and an area where many thousands of animals are used in safety assessment for drug screening purposes or for in vivo studies.
We will work towards the uptake of in silico methodologies for drug safety and efficacy.
The team includes collaborators from industry, academia, clinic and regulatory agencies from 11 countries.
