Doctoral students Eleonora Giunchiglia, Mihaela Stoian and their supervisor Professor Thomas Lukasiewicz won the best paper award at the IJCAI workshop AI4AD, and then the best student paper award at the International Joint Conference of Learning and Reasoning. The paper seeks to create a platform to make deep learning models safer.

Eleonora (who has since graduated) spoke about the research in an interview for Computer Vision News, ‘In standard software, you have a phase where you write the requirements and then you write software compliant with the requirements – I would like to do the same for deep learning, but you need a dataset to create deep learning models with requirements. Therefore, we propose the first dataset for autonomous driving with requirements.’
