Abstract

The 2000 vintage PRG student conference, like the low-yield wine from established regions, is of good quality with the prospect of lasting well. Represented in the harvest is the new variety of Programming Tools and the old cultivar of Functional Programming. Several other varieties unfortunately did not ripen in time this year.

We thank Richard Bird for his aperitif opening of the conference; Samson Abramsky for a sparkling invited talk: Interaction: splitting the atom of computation; Wendy Adams for fortified assistance with making the day a success and for compilation of tex files; and the recent CLaSS scheme for funding the prizes for best abstract and best talk.

The conference continues to complement weekly cakes talks. Some presentations were honed versions of cakes talks; others were chosen by their authors to offer a change of topic. They are all welcome.

To the future of our graduate students!
