Human Purkinje in silico model enables mechanistic investigations into automaticity and pro-arrhythmic abnormalities paper, published in the Journal of Molecular and Cellular Cardiology, has been selected as one of JMCC’s “Papers of the Year” of 2020. 

The article was selected as one of 4 Papers of the Year from among nearly 200 articles published in JMCC last year. The contribution has generated immediate impact in the field of cardiology, and has contributed to JMCC’s status as among the most widely accessed journals in the field.

Awards and distinctions to our group at the Computing in Cardiology 2020 Conference

Members of our team remotely attended the Computing in Cardiology, Rimini, Italy, 2020 conference this past week and garnered the following awards and distinctions: Finalist placing for the Roanna Degani Young Investigator Award to Hannah Smith MPhys, Semi-finalist placing for the same award to Francesca Margara MSc, and Best Remote Poster Presentation Award to Dr Zhinuo Jenny Wang. We also contributed with oral presentations by Dr Xin Zhou, Dr Cristian Trovato, and a special session oral presentation by Professor Blanca Rodriguez. The research we presented included novel human Purkinje fibre models and electromechanically coupled cell models for drug assessment, investigations of cellular and organ level electromechanical remodelling in post myocardial infarction, and an overview of our progress towards the vision of precision cardiology and the ‘Digital Twin’.
