Objectives
Systems Biology is the fastest-growing research area in the biological sciences. This course looks at post-genomic biology, from data integration to the application of computational and mathematical models of biological systems.
Contents
This course will help participants to:
- Understand the development of new experimental techniques that have been developed post-genome to perform systems biology.
- Construct connections between the different -omic datasets and between datasets from different experimental techniques.
- Analyse and evaluate biological datasets to determine which data are important for model construction.
- Apply appropriate mathematical techniques to systems model building.
- Evaluate the predictive power of the computational and mathematical models.
- Use the models to suggest new experiments.
