Professor Jeremy Gibbons becomes Pro-Proctor

On Wednesday 16 March Professor Jeremy Gibbons was admitted as a Pro-Proctor at a ceremony at the Sheldonian Theatre. Jeremy was nominated for his new role by Dr Elizabeth Gemmill, who as a new Proctor chose him and Associate Professor Alis Oancea as her deputies, known as Pro-Proctors.

Oxford’s proctors are senior academic officers who ensure that the University operates according to its statutes. They are elected by the colleges and Elizabeth, Jeremy and Alis are all members of Kellogg College. This is the first time that Kellogg academics have been recognized in this way.
