Nvidia supercomputer coming our way

Posted:

Nvidia, a world-leading specialist in visual computing, has recognised the department by naming two academics as ‘AI Pioneers’ and giving us our very own DGX-1 supercomputer.

Phil Blunsom and Nando de Freitas have been named by the company as ‘Pioneers in Artificial Intelligence Research’. Nvidia has just launched their ground-breaking supercomputer, the DGX-1, and they have chosen AI pioneers at ten different universities to receive early access to the new hardware with their own machine. Oxford is the only university outside of North America to receive this recognition.

The DGX-1 will be used for research in the areas of deep learning and artificial intelligence.
