Department takes part in University scheme: Diversity in Portraiture

Posted:

For 6 months the department display screens will be used to share a wide range of Oxford University portraits, as part of a new initiative called Diversifying Portraiture at Oxford.

The scheme, supported by the Vice-Chancellor’s Diversity Fund, aims to widen the range of people represented around the university, to reflect and encourage its increasing inclusivity, commissioning new portraits for central public spaces.

The first stage of this project is to find and highlight existing Oxford portraits illustrating the diversity of its past and present, something the Department is delighted to be involved with.
