Summer school focuses on logic and learning

Posted:

In the lead up to the Federated Logic Conference (FloC 2018), 98 researchers and students will be taking part in the (sold out) 2nd School on Foundations of Programming and Software Systems (FoPSS) on 1-6 July.

Participants will learn from, and interact with, the world's experts leading recent progress in understanding the relationships between logic and learning. These experts are from both academia and industrial research labs, including Amazon Research and DeepMind. James Worrell and Varun Kanade from the University’s Department of Computer Science are among those giving lectures.

The goal of the school is to introduce the participants to various aspects of computation theory and programming languages, and this year’s research topic is logic and learning. It will be held in St Anne's College in Oxford. FoPSS was jointly created by ETAPS, SIGLOG, SIGPLAN and EATCS.

Content will be filmed and made freely available after the event.
