It was announced on 28th April that the following has been included among several projects as part of James Martin’s $50 million matched funding scheme.

Ubiquitous and extreme computing

Lead Researcher(s): Professor Bill Roscoe and Professor Anne Trefethen The research focuses on future computing from “extreme” (very large) to “pervasive” (in everyday devices). Specific topics will include optimal energy-efficient computation, ubiquitous sensing, ubiquitous web data and human-led security for pervasive systems.
