Linde Hesse made Microsoft Research PhD Fellow

Doctoral student Linde Hesse been selected as a Microsoft Research PhD Fellow. The Microsoft Research PhD Fellowship is a global program that identifies and empowers the next generation of exceptional computing research talent. Microsoft recognises the value of diversity in computing and aims to increase the pipeline of talent receiving advanced degrees in computing-related fields to build a stronger and inclusive computing-related research community.

The award includes:

  • $15,000 USD for academic year 2022–23 to help complete research as part of the student’s doctoral thesis work
  • An offer for a 12-week paid internshipat Microsoft Research’s Cambridge, UK lab
  • Opportunities to build relationships with research teams at Microsoft and receive mentorship

Linde is a doctoral student in the Department of Engineering but now does her research in the Department of Computer Science, where her main supervisor Dr Ana Namburete recently moved.
