1st Oxbridge Women in Computer Science Conference held at Cambridge

Posted:

The 1st Oxbridge Women in Computer Science Conference was successfully held at the University of Cambridge’s Computer Laboratory on the 27th February 2014. The Oxbridge Women in Computer Science Conference is an annual conference co-organised by OxWoCS and Cambridge women@CL that aims to bring together junior and senior female computer scientists at Oxford and Cambridge, with the aim to encourage collaboration through formal and informal discussion.

This year’s conference consisted of student presentations and poster sessions with feedback given by a panel of senior female academics from Oxford and Cambridge Universities as well as technologists. The keynote was given by Oxford’s very own Professor Ursula Martin. The conference was free for all attendees, and was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Google.

The event was a great success with over 50 attendees, with many lasting connections created between the two societies. We look forward to hosting the 2nd Oxbridge Women in Computer Science Conference at Oxford in February 2015.
