TheySay captures the Corbyn moment

Posted:

TheySay, a real-time sentiment analysis site founded by Professor of Computational Linguistics Stephen Pulman and alumnus Karo Moilanen, has been used to analyse the Twitter response to Jeremy Corbyn’s election as Leader of the Labour Party. Corbyn was alone mentioned on Twitter over 260k times. TheySay was used to create statistics not only on the positive and negative response, but even the frequency with which his name was linked to emotions of shame, surprise, uncertainty and happiness. This analysis was quoted by many news sources, including The Guardian, City AM and the Herald Scotland.
