Abstract

In this project we will investigate the use of numerical and computational methods to efficiently solve the linear system of equations arising from a one dimensional airflow model within a network of tree like branches. This work will build upon the methods presented within the first year Linear Algebra and Continuous Maths courses. All software to be developed can be in the student’s preferred programming language.

General area: Design and computational implementation of fast and reliable numerical models arising from biological phenomena.
