TPP: Growing older wisely - using big data to optimise healthcare

In this talk we will show how taking a fresh mathematical look at the wealth of data collected by health care practitioners can identify better, more effective, and cheaper ways of delivering care. This is the heart of the challenge faced by the NHS and by all nations across the world. By walking through a real example, we will demonstrate how simple techniques can be applied to existing large data sets to create an algorithm that is now in use across the UK.

TPP provides software to the NHS to join up patient records from any care setting to make healthcare delivery more effective and efficient. Over 200,000 users in 5,000 NHS organisations use TPP's SystmOne software to access almost 50 million patient records. We build the technology to enable our National Health Service to be the world-leading care organisation in the 21st century, and aspire to do the same globally. In 2017 TPP was named by the JobCrowd as the top IT company for graduates to work for.
