Oxbridge CompSci women organise fifth conference

Posted:

The fifth Oxbridge Women in Computer Science Conference will be held on 15 March 2018 in Cambridge, UK. The annual conference aims to bring together junior and senior female computer scientists at Cambridge and Oxford, encourage collaboration through formal and informal discussion, and give a perfect opportunity for young researchers to present their research and get valuable feedback in a very open, friendly and informal environment. In previous years the conference has attracted around 100 participants.

The conference will include talks by key speakers from academia and industry who will share their experiences with the participants. This year's conference has again been made possible through the generous sponsorship of Google.

The deadline for registration to attend is 16 February 2018. There is no registration fee for the conference, and lunch and a conference dinner will be provided free of charge. Coach transportation will be provided free of charge for all participants traveling from Oxford. Registration is at: https://goo.gl/forms/LoDXjvNjeWlMwcPw1

Current female undergraduates, MPhil/MSc, PhD/DPhil students, research assistants and postdocs are encouraged to submit short abstracts (up to one page) for presentations, lightning talks or posters on their topic of research. There are no proceedings for the conference, and therefore presentations and posters can be under submission for other conferences or workshops. The deadline for abstract submission is 26 January 2018. For more details, see the call for papers, posters and lightning talks page: https://www.cst.cam.ac.uk/women/techevents/owcsc2018/cfp.
