New book about Sir Tony Hoare

A new book has just been published about Sir Tony Hoare, eminent Computer Scientist and former head of our department. The book ‘Theories of Programming: The Life and Works of Tony Hoare’ presents the essence of his various works—the quest for effective abstractions—both in his own words as well as chapters written by leading experts in the field including contributions from Department of Computer Science academics Bill Roscoe and Bernard Sufrin.
