Associate Professorship or Professor of Computer Science at St Hilda’s College

Department of Computer Science, Wolfson Building, Parks Road, Oxford 

Salary from: £50,300 p.a. (plus substantial benefits including an additional pensionable benefits including college housing allowance of 8856 p.a. (An Allowance of £2931 p.a. would be payable upon award of Full Professor title). This post may be suitable for job-share or flexible working.

Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor or Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science, to start by 1 September 2023. The successful candidate will also be appointed as a Fellow and Tutor in Computer Science at St Hilda’s College. Tutors are responsible for the organisation and teaching of their subject within the College.

The Department of Computer Science is a vibrant and growing academic department, which has a research profile across the entire spectrum of contemporary computer science.  You will be expected to engage in independent and original research in an area that enhances and is coherent with the research profile and strategic research directions of the Department of Computer Science. You will be expected to secure funding, to engage in the management of research projects, and to disseminate through publications in high-quality scholarly journals and conferences.  You will also contribute to teaching on the Department’s highly successful undergraduate and graduate programmes.

In the College you will undertake the work of a Tutorial Fellow: you will teach and take responsibility for the academic progress of undergraduates, act as College Adviser to graduate students, take part in the undergraduate admissions process, contribute to the intellectual life of the College, and serve as a Trustee, on the College’s Governing Body and on other committees and working groups.

You will hold a doctoral degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, have the ability to teach across a range of Computer Science subjects, and will also have a proven research track record of internationally high quality in Computer Science.  For this post, we are looking for outstanding candidates in Quantum Computing.
