Professor Bill Morton receives De Morgan Medal
Posted: 2nd July 2010
Everyone in the Computing Laboratory congratulates Professor Bill Morton former Professor of Numerical Analysis and Director on the award of the De Morgan Medal from the London Mathematical Society. The De Morgan Medal is the Society’s premier award; the only grounds for the award of the Medal are the candidate’s contributions to mathematics. The Medal is awarded every third year, in memory of Professor A. De Morgan, the Society’s first President.
Bill recently celebrated his 80th birthday and a special symposium was held to mark the occasion.
