Pearson publishes AI security book 'Beyond the Algorithm' by Dr Petar Radanliev and Omar Santos

Professional Master's Programme Project Supervisor, Dr Petar Radanliev, has co-written a book on the ever more important topic of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, privacy, and ethics. 'Beyond the Algorithm: AI, Security, Privacy, and Ethics' is due to be published by Pearson on 24 January.

Dr Petar Radanliev co-wrote 'Beyond the Algorithm' with cybersecurity expert Omar Santos at a crucial time, as AI-integrated cybersecurity is rapidly evolving and raising complex ethical and privacy issues. The book offers an analysis of AI in the context of cybersecurity, privacy, and ethical considerations, adding to the current discussion around the responsible development and use of AI in cybersecurity. The academic perspective offered by Dr Radanliev’s prior roles, such as Cybersecurity Manager at RBS and Lead Penetration Tester for the Ministry of Defence, together with the practical perspective from Omar Santos’ industry practices, evidenced by his authorship of over 20 books and numerous articles and white papers, provides comprehensive theoretical and practical understanding of the topic to a wide audience. The book is aimed at students, academics, policymakers, and industry professionals who seek to understand and navigate the complex interplay of AI, security, and ethics.
