The department, in partnership with Saïd Business School, has announced a new MSc in AI for Business, due to start in October 2026.

A smiling woman poses with a laptop. The title says 'MSc AI for |Business' with a strapline 'The Oxford AI edge: shaping the future of business'

This innovative degree stands apart by uniting the Department’s world-leading strengths in AI research, software engineering and systems security with Saïd Business School’s global expertise in strategic leadership and responsible management. Together, these two centres of excellence bridge the gap between technical innovation and executive decision-making.

Most programmes teach either maths or management. Ours does both – and applies them with business impact. Professor Andrew Martin, Director of Professional Programmes

Building on three decades of professional education in software engineering and systems security, the new MSc reflects the department’s long-standing focus on connecting research and real-world application. Students will explore how AI can be deployed responsibly and effectively within organisations, with attention to governance, privacy and security alongside data-driven innovation.

Delivered jointly with Saïd Business School, the programme integrates technical study with business practice, helping students to apply machine learning to complex problems, design human-centred solutions, and lead cross-functional teams.

Applications are now open, with a deadline of January 2026 for entry in October 2026.
