Software Engineering PostGrad Open Day Announced
Posted: 14th January 2011
The Programme will be holding an information day for software and security courses in Oxford on Saturday 19th February 2011 from 10.00 until 14.00.
The event will be a taster for our part-time professional Master's degree: if you have considered applying but would like to know more before committing, or are just curious, this is an opportunity to find out about the Programme, meet the staff, ask questions, sit in on some example lectures, be interviewed, etc.
The departmnt runs short, one-week courses all year round, teaching the essential principles and practices of software and security. These courses can be taken individually, as focussed units of professional education, or used in combination to earn a Master of Science (MSc) from the University of Oxford.
This event will be held at the University's Computing Laboratory, on Saturday, 19th February 2011, from 10.00 until 14.00 using the entrance at 7, Keble Road.
Refreshments will be available from 10.00, and there will be three short talks from 11.00 until 12.30: an update on the programmes, a discussion of "home truths" in security, and a presentation of new developments in ad-hoc, sensor and mobile networks.
A free buffet lunch will be provided from 12.30. The programme staff will be available to answer your questions, to discuss future developments, and to interview potential students.
If you, or any of your friends and colleagues, would like to attend, then you are most warmly invited. Please call +44 (0) 1865 283525, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Further contact details are given here.
If you are already thinking of applying for registration as a student on one of our two MScs, then let us know - we'd be happy to arrange a personal consultation or interview on the day.
