Forum for research on querying large data streams at Oxford

Posted:

A forum for research on querying large data streams is being held in Oxford between 25-27 September 2012.

Vast amounts of data is being made available in the form of streams, with the data existing in a variety of non-traditional data models, including XML, JSON,  and RDF.   Michael Benedikt and Dan Olteanu of the department's Information Systems group will host a workshop exploring cutting-edge research on data management for these streams.

The workshop will include talks from academics in Europe, Asia, and the US, and will include contributions from major industry players, such as Twitter.

Talks are open to local participants; those who wish to partake more formally should contact the organizers. For more information on INQUEST: INnovative QUErying of STreams, including the schedule of talks, see  http://games.cs.ox.ac.uk/inquest12/
