Abstract

Through a prior collaboration, we have access to a satellite receiver ground station suitable for security testing. In this project, you will develop tools to hijack or jam satellite signals, and evaluate their effect through real-world experiments on
the ground station. A closed-loop experiment involving a software-defined radio (SDR) receiver will be set up to measure the effect of the interference over the channel. The results will enable analysis to defend satellite signals against these
threats, with applications in satellite-based internet services and telemetry.

Interested students should have experience in computer networks and communication protocols, and be confident in developing software using Python. No prior experience in radio communications is required.
