Profile
I combine a good balance of working in a quality controlled procedural manner with imagination and originality. Always keen to complete tasks on time to a suitable, although not necessarily perfect, standard, which is consistent with my status as a chartered engineer.Since moving into computing in 1981 I have gone through being an accomplished program writer, small systems developer, 4GL developer, database and systems manager, systems integrator, network designer, department manager and business and IT consultant.
Currently I am the Computer Manager for the Department of Computer Science at Oxford University with responsibility to oversee, control, and develop the provision and support of computing resources to the work of the department. In conjunction with this, a limited amount of time is made available to engage in external consultancy and voluntary public service.
