Grade 8: Salary £41,526 – £49,553 p.a. (with discretionary salary up to £54,131) p.a.

 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Departmental Lecturer in Machine Learning on a fixed term  basis, to start as soon as possible, within The Department of Computer Science.

 

You will develop and deliver taught modules, set and mark written assignments, and supervise students offered by the Department of Computer Science, areas of interest include but are not restricted to: Reinforcement Learning and tutorials in imperative and concurrent programming, compilers, digital systems, linear algebra and formal proofs. You will join a thriving, first-rate machine learning group, both within the Department of Computer Science and in the wider Oxford environment.

 

You will be asked to deliver tutorials at Jesus College (a 3-hour stint a week during term time).

 

You will also be expected also to act as an effective member of the team, providing appropriate academic support for activities such as student admissions, curriculum development, and University examinations.

 

You should have a doctorate in a relevant subject, such as: Computer Science or Machine Learning, a good understanding of underlying theory, an aptitude for teaching, and the skills and judgement needed to teach advanced concepts and techniques.
