Associate Professorship (or Professorship) (Tutorial Fellow) in Systems

Department of Computer Science, Wolfson Building, Parks Road, Oxford and Magdalen College, Oxford.

Salary from: £48,835 p.a., plus substantial benefits including accommodation in the College or College housing allowance of £15,000 p.a., and access to a housing loan scheme. (An Allowance of £2846 p.a. would be payable upon award of Full Professor title). This post may be suitable for job-share or flexible working.

Applications are invited for the post of Associate Professor or Professor of Systems in the Department of Computer Science and Magdalen College, the post has a preferred start date of

1 September 2022. The successful candidate will also be appointed as a Tutorial Fellow in Computer Science at Magdalen College, with shared responsibility for the organisation and teaching of their subject within the College.

You will be a member of both the University and the College community, part of a lively and intellectually stimulating research community with access to the excellent research facilities, which Oxford offers. You will have a role to play in the running of the College as a member of the Governing Body and Charity Trustee.

The Department of Computer Science is a vibrant and growing academic department, which has a research profile across the entire spectrum of contemporary Computer Science.  You will join the Cyber Physical Systems Research Group and will be expected to engage in independent and original research within this area. You will be expected to secure funding, to engage in the management of research projects, and to disseminate your research through publication in high-quality scholarly journals and conferences. You will also contribute to teaching on the Department’s highly successful undergraduate and graduate programmes.

You will hold a doctoral degree in Computer Science, (or cognate discipline), have the ability to teach across a range of Computer Science subjects, and will also have a proven research record of internationally high quality in the area of Computer Science systems.
