Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher to work on a research project on machine learning and natural language processing. This post is funded from an EPSRC Fellowship and will primarily be responsible for engaging in novel research on the application of machine learning techniques for modelling and exploiting the structure of natural language. The successful applicant will be based in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Oxford and will be a member of the Computational Linguistics Group, working with Associate Professor Phil Blunsom.

Applicants should have a strong background in machine learning and natural language processing, including publications in top conferences or journals in these areas. In particular, applicants should have experience implementing probabilistic graphical models and deep learning systems for language processing in C++.

The post, which is a full-time appointment, is available for a fixed term of up to 6 months, to commence as soon as possible and in any case not later than 1 May 2014.  The post has a salary on the University grade 07S scale (currently £29,837 to £36,661). This includes membership of the University Superannuation Scheme (USS) and has an annual leave entitlement of 38 days per year (inclusive of all public holidays and university closed periods).
