The Cybersecurity Group at the Department of Computer Science is seeking a Part-time Research Assistant (from 50% FTE) to work with Professor Andrew Martin on the MXD project.  This is a fixed-term contract for up to 13 months, starting on 1st October 2014. 

You would be required to undertake original research in this area, contribute to project deliverables, attend project meetings, report on research in peer-reviewed academic papers, and produce reports and implementations.

An excellent communicator and team-player, you should have a thorough understanding of current and likely future trends in the “internet of things”.  You should also have the ability to undertake design work to solve relevant security problems within the known constraints.   

The post, which is a part-time, fixed-term appointment, has a salary on the University grade 06S scale (currently £27,057 - £32,277 p.a. pro-rata).  This includes membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS), and has an annual leave entitlement of 38 days per year (inclusive of all public holidays and university closed periods).
