The University of Oxford’s Department of Computer Science was established in 1957 and is one of the leading computer science departments in the country, ranked first in a number of international rankings. Our research examines the mathematical, scientific, and engineering principles underlying every kind of computing system, from mobile phones to supercomputers, in areas ranging from cyber security to computational biology. We are an ambitious and fast-growing department, with a recently launched alumni network and a growing base of external support. 

We now have an exciting vacancy for a Senior Development Executive to lead major fundraising activities for the Department. The Senior Development Executive will identify and cultivate major donors to secure substantial donations to support the ongoing development and projects of the Department, including an ambitious project to obtain funding for new facilities and to develop funds to support graduate studies within the department. 

You will have demonstrable experience developing a strategic approach to recruiting, cultivating and stewarding a large portfolio of relationships with influential contacts with demonstrable experience of raising major funds from a range of individuals or corporations. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to enable you to inspire and enthuse others in the discipline of computer science. This is a senior position within the department, requiring an outstanding fundraising professional with the commitment and ability to meet growing targets in support of the Department’s strategic objectives.

The post, which is a full time appointment, is available for up to 3 years, and has a salary on the University grade 08S scale (currently £38,511 - £45,954 p.a., with a discretionary range up to £50,200). This includes membership of the University Superannuation Scheme (USS) and has an annual leave entitlement of 38 days per year (inclusive of all public holidays and university closed periods).
