Biography

I am a Senior Cybersecurity Researcher at the Department of Computer Science and James Martin Fellow at the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC). My research interests include capacity building in cybersecurity, risk analysis and resilience in the cyber domain, cyber insurance, and anomaly detection techniques for internal and external threats. Over the last years I have participated in various projects in the following areas: detecting insider threats (CITD), modelling cyber harm for nations and organisations (Relative Effectiveness of Controls Project), designing cybersecurity capacity maturity models for organisations, assessing trustworthiness of information and the spread of rumours on social media (TEASE, Rumour Identification), using machine learning to achieve situational awareness (RicherPicture, CyberVis), cyber-resilience and dynamic consent (EnCoRe project). Teaching commitments include lectures for the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) on topics such as cyber risk, security controls, online privacy and anomaly detection. I currently supervise students at undergraduate, Masters and doctoral level.

I completed my doctoral studies in Engineering at the University of Warwick (2012, EPSRC-funded) where I focused on dynamic consent modeling. I also hold an MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science (2008) and a BSc in Applied Informatics from the University of Macedonia in Greece (2006).
