Our buildings

Our main Department building is the Wolfson Building, situated on the corner of Parks Road and Keble Road. However, parts of the department are located in other buildings. Here is a list of all our building locations:

  • Wolfson Building, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3QD
  • 14/15 Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3AQ
  • Robert Hooke Building, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PP
  • 39a, St Giles, Oxford, OX1 3LN

The main Oxford University website provides advice on travel to Oxford. The department is a brisk 15-minute walk from the railway station, or a brisk 10-minute walk from the bus station, but taxis are readily available. The Department of Computer Science is on the corner of Keble Road and Parks Road, with the main entrance on Parks Road.

A map of the Museums, University buildings and other places of interest (pdf) and a more detailed map of the University Science area (pdf), and an interactive, searchable map of Oxford's colleges, halls, departments, libraries and museums can be found, along with other maps of the city centre on the Oxford University website.

Note that the road junction between Keble Road and Banbury Road is closed to motor vehicles. Access from Banbury Road is now via the junction with Parks Road at the northern end of the "Keble Road triangle".

The Robert Hooke Building entrance is located to the left of the main Natural History Museum entrance when approaching from the direction of Keble road. The building does not have a staffed reception, please use the telephone and contact list located in the lobby to gain access.

The University's building access guide provides interactive maps, contact details, accessibility information and image galleries for each University-owned building.

To use a mapping service (such as Bing maps or Streetmap) or a route planning service (such as RAC Route Planner or Google Maps) please use postcode OX1 3QD.

Public parking in the city centre is very limited and the best advice for those coming by car is probably to use the Park & Ride services on the city outskirts (see map). For information on prices and parking restrictions, please visit https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/cms/content/street-parking
