Biography
Emma McMillian is a DPhil student in Computer Science. Her research is at the intersection of Machine Learning and Computational Cardiology, focusing on how AI can enhance the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. It is her mission to leverage AI’s predictive capabilities, reliability, and her own equitable use of multimodal data to answer pressing questions. She works to design machine learning models that can generate 3D volumetric heart reconstructions of the heart for patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She answers questions like, can generative models accurately capture the diversity in patients’ heart structures? Overall Emma’s research aids physicians and patients in disease diagnosis and treatment.
