Interests
I work within the Computational Biology group and am primarily interested in the use of DSLs to describe biological systems and their design for biological modellers without a programming/computational background. My work focuses on the creation of DSLs to describe cardiac electro-physiological systems from a hybrid-stochastic point of view that may then be used to derive high-performance specialised simulations for execution on heterogeneous, parallel CPU and GPU systems.
This work has resutled in the creation of the Ode DSL - an open-source modelling language for describing spatially-homogenous systems containing ODEs, SDEs, and/or SSA-reactions. Ode and the accompying D.Phil thesis may be downloaded from https://bitbucket.org/mands/ode.
