Biography

Jonathan brings over two decades of cybersecurity expertise from leading global financial institutions including BlackRock, London Stock Exchange Group, Fidelity International, and Deutsche Bank, where he specialised in critical infrastructure protection, threat intelligence, and enterprise security architecture. He holds master's degrees in Computer Science (University of Liverpool) and Cybersecurity (MSc with Distinction, University of Oxford), combining deep technical knowledge with strategic risk management experience across highly regulated environments.

His DPhil research, supervised by Professor Andrew Martin, focuses on Zero Trust architecture models, employing formal methods and game-theoretic approaches to address trust boundary challenges in distributed systems. This work builds on his MSc dissertation which developed novel Security-per-Watt heuristics for resource-constrained Low Earth Orbit satellite systems, addressing the unique security challenges of space-based infrastructure.

Jonathan's research interests encompass Zero Trust security models, satellite cybersecurity, electromagnetic spectrum security, formal verification methods, and the application of game theory to adversarial scenarios in contested environments. His work bridges theoretical foundations with practical security challenges in critical national infrastructure and emerging technology domains.
