Jan Buys
Interests
My research focuses on applying machine learning (especially deep learning) to develop structured prediction models for natural language processing. I am particularly interested in syntactic and semantic parsing, generative models and sequence transduction. My DPhil research focuses on generative models for incremental dependency parsing and neural semantic graph parsing (code).
Biography
I recently completed my DPhil, supervised by Phil Blunsom. Before coming to Oxford I completed my undergraduate in Mathematics and Computer Science, and a masters in Computer Science, all at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. I am supported by the Clarendon Fund and the Skye Foundation.
